The Believer from Āl-Yāsīn, commonly known as Ḥabīb al-Najjār, is one of the prominent figures in the Qur’an whose actions are portrayed as a model of faith in verses 13 to 29 of Sūrat Yāsīn. Numerous narrations also elaborate on his character in connection with these verses. The central question of this study is: What exemplary qualities does the Qur’an attribute to the Believer in Sūrat Yāsīn? This research employs a qualitative content analysis method, drawing on exegetical, historical, and narrative sources related to Ḥabīb al-Najjār. The findings indicate that the martyr of Sūrat Yāsīn, based on Qur’anic criteria, represents a distinguished model of faith, sincerity, courage, and social responsibility. His initiative in supporting the messengers, his compassion and empathy in calling others to faith, his use of rational arguments to reject polytheism, and his emphasis on the exclusive sovereignty of Allah all reflect his active and committed spirit. By affirming the divine mission of the messengers through rational evidence, he emerges as a paradigm of reasoned religious advocacy. On one hand, he transformed personal faith into responsible social action, demonstrating accountability; on the other, his readiness for martyrdom, immediate entry into the intermediate paradise, and his wish for his people to be aware of divine grace exemplify his altruism. Moreover, Ḥabīb al-Najjār’s resistance against the tyrannical system of his time positions him as a fervent and courageous believer—an enduring source of inspiration for contemporary and future generations of the faithful.
