The issue of "‘Atf ‘alā al-Tawahhum" (Attachment to Illusion) is one of the topics in Arabic grammar and falls under the category of "Tawābi‘" (Subordinate Elements). Although grammarians have discussed this concept and expressed various opinions about it, there is a divergence of views among them regarding its actual presence or absence in the Noble Qur’an. Certain Qur’anic verses are syntactically constructed in a way that some classical grammarians have identified as instances of "‘Atf ‘alā al-Tawahhum". This study specifically examines the claim that this type of coordination occurs in six particular Qur’anic verses. Accordingly, the main objective of this research is to answer the following question: How valid is the claim of "Attachment to Illusion" with regard to these six verses? To this end, the verses in question and their syntactic structures are attentively analyzed. The research methodology is library-based, and the data are processed through a descriptive-analytical approach. The findings indicate that all the verses cited as examples of "‘Atf ‘alā al-Tawahhum" exhibit alternative syntactic constructions that are more linguistically and contextually plausible than the supposed structure of attachment to illusion.
